Why is Physical Fitness Important?

For one thing, physical fitness provides both short-term & long-term benefits. Many people think only of exercise when they hear the words "physical fitness" but in truth their are FOUR major components to physical health. One of which is exercise, but there is also the factors of sleep, nutrition & hygiene.

Improving your physical fitness also improves the other aspects of the Health Triangle (mental/emotional & social health). One of the benefits of physical fitness would be that when you are physically fit your mental alertness and emotional stability are improved dramatically as well. Some other benefits may include:
    A. Strengthening of the bones, muscles, and joints
    B. Enhances your immune system against illness & disease. A few examples would be, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, obesity, strokes, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, & even cancer.
    C. Improves body systems, a few samples would be the: nervous, circulatory, and respiratory systems. 
    D. Relieves stress
    E. Increases your energy, metabolism, and self-esteem.
    F. Provides a way to get to know people & belong to a group
