Obstacles & Support Systems

When you set a goal it is always important to create a support system for yourself. Throughout your journey to accomplish your goal you may run into obstacles that may slow you down or even make you want to give up. If you have a support system they will be able to help you overcome those obstacles more easily. Also, the encouragement a support system can give you, will strengthen your commitment to your goal.

Obstacles:
Some potential obstacles for me throughout my process of working towards my goal are:
Physical: I may get injured or ill during workouts or outside of my routine
Mental: Timing, will be a big obstacle because with between school and outside activities I have little free time.
Social: I may not be compatible or comfortable with the others at the gym or pool I will be using as my location.

Ways to overcome obstacles:
Physical: If injury or illness occurs I may not be able to carry through with my primary plan, but I may be able to do different activities that will both help me recover and work towards my goal. Recovery should be my primary concern so that I will be able to continue my fitness plan.
Mental: Well with timing, I may just have to create a slot of time in my everyday schedule and make sure that I conduct my workout during that time frame. That way I get it done and it won't necessarily interfere with my other plans if I know that everyday I have to workout between a specific time frame.
Social: If I know when those people go to the gym/pool, I may be able to fit my schedule around them so I avoid contact with them. Or if I can't fit my schedule around them I could always change my location to a local YMCA or other workout facility.

Support System:
I have decided that the best support system for me would be my three brothers. The reason being because they will be able to become my exercise partners and I know that they will not let me quit or give-up. They have always pushed me to be the best so I know with them I will differently improve. My older brothers are very athletic, so they know helpful tips that could help me. With my little brother's energy and persistency I won't be able to get out of doing the workout. I am also comfortable talking to them about my obstacle and ways to overcome them.
